The Best Way To Support Your Baby and Yourself

Karin Frost, designer and president of The ERGO Baby Carrier, Inc., discovered after giving birth to her son in 2001 that, "carrying my baby was the ideal way of having him close and remaining productive in my daily life. So I set out to design my ideal carrier." Thus the first prototype of the ERGO was created. The carrier was so successful that mothers who saw her carrying her son asked her to make carriers for them. Within a very short time the demand for the ERGO became a sensation so great that the result is the manufacture of a carrier that is now sold to a worldwide market via the Internet and a network of distributors. Research and development has been and remains Karin's focus. New product designs are launched on a regular basis.

The company is family owned and managed in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii. We have a dedicated team whose priority is customer service, including immediate order response and friendly support of product use and understanding. Our growth this year enabled us to donate over 500 ERGO Baby Carriers to Women's Shelters in Louisiana and Texas during Hurricane Katrina and Rita. We were struck with compassion for the mothers and fathers and strangers carrying one and sometimes two babies or small children, wading through floodwaters and carrying bundles as well. This gift was in keeping with our commitment to furthering the baby carrying experience.

A part of our mission is to educate parents about babywearing and in November we will be exhibiting at the New Baby & Kids Expo, Hawaii';s Premier Family and Kids Event. The dates are November 12 and 13 at the Neal Blaisdell Center in Honolulu. We will have a booth and be giving exhibitor demonstrations of the use of the ERGO Baby Carrier. There will be speakers offering timely, practical advise on child and prenatal care throughout the show. We are also proud to have Parenting Magazine's Mom-Tested Seal of approval. Parenting Magazine calls upon the expertise of moms across the country to reality-test products and services to find those that truly make their lives easier. Only those that meet with the mom's approval are granted the seal.

Our most recent addition to the ERGO line of products is a limited edition 100% Certified Organic Cotton Denim Carrier. It will be available mid November. Cotton that is grown in conventional ways is compromised and weakened by the chemicals used in the growing, processing and dying of cotton. All these things break the fiber down and create a weaker, inferior cotton product; that is why you get a softer, stronger, better cotton using organic. Our organic cotton is dyed with an environmentally sound and sensitive hi tech cobalt formula from a German manufacturer that is 90% color fast .

The ERGO Papoose Coat is another new product now available on our website, www.ergobabycarrier.com This coat is the perfect solution for Winter wearing. It will keep your baby warm in its carrier with you, under one coat. It is 75% Wool, 15% Mohair and 10% Polyester. This coat is luscious, fuzzy, warm and lightweight. The Papoose Coat is sporty enough for hikes in the woods and stylish enough for the streets of any cosmopolitan city. It is meticulously constructed with silk piping on all edges and has a beautiful drape so even though it is only offered in one size, it adapts nicely to both small and larger women. The scarf is attached to the coat and acts as part of the closure along with the zipper. There are side pockets and the Papoose Coat can be worn on the front or back, depending on which direction you wear your baby in the ERGO. The Papoose Coat is adjustable for the size of your baby and wraps around the neck and shoulders for maximum warmth. It is available in Charcoal Grey.
