"We are pleased to be able to partner with ERGObaby to give families the opportunity to use an ERGObaby carrier," said Christi Masters, Program Director for Imua Family Services. "The use of one of these ergonomically correct baby carriers will enhance the life of a special needs child and give their parent a tool that will help promote bonding and ease stress, allowing them to complete activities that would be difficult without the ERGObaby Carrier. We are honored that ERGObaby thought of Imua Family Services and the children and families we serve as their choice to give back to the Maui community."

ERGObaby founder Karin Frost says, "I was convinced that keeping my baby close to my body from newborn for as long as possible was the best way to introduce him to the world. For many years we have wanted to help provide our carriers to families with a special needs child in an effort to help support the child's development and the family."

ERGObaby, a Maui company, was founded in 2003 out of Karin's desire to use a baby carrier that was ergonomically correct for her and her child. This international company now supplies ERGOBaby carriers worldwide in 40 countries. The idea to use the carriers to help families of children with special needs came from Karin's father, Robert Frost.

"If all parents would realize how important it is to nurture their babies with constant physical contact, and not consign them to cribs, we would have a fundamental change in the quality of our society. In these cases where we are helping families with special needs children, it is even more crucial that these children have the opportunity to be close to their parents, and the ERGObaby Carrier provides this opportunity. We are very pleased to work with Imua Family Services and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future."
