ERGObaby carrier > Baby Stories > Elizabeth FranklinElizabeth Franklin
Okay, I just had to send an email regarding this baby carrier. I have absolutely no vested interest in this company whatsoever but just wanted to share some thoughts for those moms who like to wear their babies. This is an AWESOME carrier. It's a front, hip, or back style carrier and fits babies up to 40#. I've been using the baby Bjorn and a sling since my son was born 6 months ago but find my back and shoulder are becoming very sore and uncomfortable. I was looking for a back-pack style carrier that was easy to transport and use while out hiking (now that we finally have sun). I have a Kelty Kids back pack that a friend gave to me but it's very bulky so I'm reluctant to use it. In any case, a friend recommended the Ergo carrier to me and I took her advice. I just have to say how happy I am with this carrier.
It's absolutely so comfortable and even better for the baby. It doesn't put pressure on the spine like the Bjorn. It also puts baby in a sitting position rather than slinging them up by the crotch. This carrier puts all of the baby weight on your hips when you're wearing it instead of the shoulders and back. I'm just amazed how much better I feel wearing it. Granted, it's definitely pricey, $92 and free shipping, but it's well worth the expense. This carrier would be comfortable to use out on the trails of Marin and beyond. Great for where a stroller can't go but you would like to. It's also a little tricky to put on in the back pack position but is easy with a little practice. I've been wondering what I was going to do when my Bjorn gave out and now I have the answer and I just had to share.
