ERGObaby carrier > Baby Stories > January 2007
I was wary of buying any new accouterments for my baby…it seems they out grow things so fast…and they can only fit in the Bjorn for 6 months! But the best thing I ever did was ask my family to pool money for my daughter’s first birthday present to get an ERGO. Saved!!!! My back, my family, and my baby, thank you.
Even Kelty carriers were uncomfortable and pulled across my chest. I can adjust the straps on the ERGO ‘under’ my breasts and be very comfortable. And thanks; too, for sending your business cards along with my purchase…now I can get errands done without the long Q & A sessions from inquisitive mothers looking for a better buy than all those other carriers. We intend to use the carrier frequently in Italy next year when we go for two months to Rome. Perhaps you should translate your cards to Italian because you are going to have a lot of international requests coming along.!!! Thanks again.

I am a mom of five boys. My youngest will be six months old next week. With all of my children I had a sling or another homemade front/back carrier. After prolonged use with either of them I ached all over. And my youngest son hated the sling even as a very small infant. When I tried my other carrier his little legs turned blue. I found myself trying to "rock" a double stroller or shopping cart to sooth a screaming baby almost constantly. I fell behind in my house work and could only accomplish anything when I let him scream, had his brothers juggle him back and forth among each other or he was sleeping. It was awful.

I just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for making such a PERFECT carrier! I am the blessed mother of four children under age 5 and I only wish I'd heard of your company sooner! Everywhere I go people ask me where I got this carrier! I am about out of business cards! After hearing about how great this carrier is nonstop for weeks, my best friend recently purchased one (the mother of five boys) and is trying it out. Before I got my ERGO, my three-month-old rarely wanted down and I was having a terrible time keeping up with laundry, dishes, and housework in general. You'd think I would've had this mastered by number four.... But no. If Caeden is fussy, I just get the carrier and put it on in seconds! Instant happy baby!

We just wanted to write to tell you how much we love our Ergo Baby Carrier.
We just got one for our 6-month-old son in December while we were home in the States. It is so nice to have him on my back! I raked leaves, shoveled snow, went for long walks, and just puttered around the house with him in the Ergo. He was happy the whole time, and even fell asleep while I was shoveling snow! The attached photos show him sleeping soundly.
We have returned back to our home-for-now, Guatemala, and everyone wants to know where I got the carrier--including the local Maya women who carry their babies in cloth slings!
Thanks for making such a great product.
Our Best,
Allan, Courtney and Wiley Carver

I thought you might enjoy a shot of our eight-month-old snoozing on snowshoes in our beloved ERGO. We've taken her up to 11,000 feet in the mountains (last summer) and now out in the snow -- where she slept, warm and content for hours, while I got to play! Incidentally, there's quite a cult of the Ergo in Berkeley. I feel like we need a secret handshake or something -- most people settle for a knowing grin.
Best,
Erika
p.s.
The photo was taken near Lyons, CO. Since then, we’ve taken Vivian hiking in sub-zero weather in Vermont in the ERGO (covered with many scarves) – works like a charm. Cold baby? Nope. Sleeping baby? Yes.
Thanks.
I am a member of the Golden Gate Mothers Group (San Francisco). Moms are always asking questions of each other. I work in market research at an ad/design agency and know how hard it is for small companies to get insights like this, so I thought I'd pass it along. Most everyone loves your product passionately compared to Bjorn. Meanwhile Bjorn has much bigger market share. I really would love to see you guys grow. ERGO is much better for a woman's anatomy. Bjorn's adjustment method is pretty nice, though the end result is not so great.
Just thought I'd pass this along since I love ERGO.
